A major water park and surfing attraction looks to be coming to Maricopa.

The agenda for next Tuesday’s city council meeting includes a scheduled vote on the sale of three parcels from a vacant 79-acre property owned by the city at the southwest corner of West Smith-Enke Road (State Route 238) and North Loma Road.

The sales would be made to three Mesa-based corporations: Copa Surf LLC for 21 acres, PRLG Holdings LLC for 18 acres and E Jaicks LLC for 20 acres. The total cost of the three parcels is $3.86 million.

The city also will consider a Development, Operating and Maintenance Lease agreement for about 12 acres at the same location with PHX Surf LLC, which lists Wave Tek Parks as one of its contacts on its Arizona Corporation Commission business registration, which was updated May 2.
