On Thursday there will be a Public hearing and consideration of requests by Charles Wright of Pinal Design Group, LLC on behalf of Arizona Conference Corporation of Seventh Day Adventists during the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting. City of Casa Grande

The Planning and Zoning Commission on Thursday will consider a request to build a church east of Colorado Street at the end of Cordova Avenue in the Rancho Grande neighborhood.

According to the agenda, the case includes a zone change, a conditional use permit and a major site plan requested by Charles Wright of Pinal Design Group on behalf of Arizona Conference Corporation of Seventh-day Adventists.

“The largest concern is that UR (Urban Ranch Residential) is no longer a supportable zone district per the newly voter-approved General Plan 2030 to be effective June 8, 2021,” says the agenda. “Staff still supports this rezone request, however, because the intent of the zoning is to accommodate a church use, which is allowed with the approval of a Conditional Use Permit in a variety of zone districts that are supportable by General Plan 2030.”
