Pinal County finishes counting votes; some recounts will be necessary

Over the weekend, Pinal County Elections released the final voting results for the primary, which led to some clarity on almost every race, yet not for a couple.

In all, 56,654 ballots were counted in Pinal, which represents 29.3 percent of registered voters. The results are still unofficial until they are confirmed by the Pinal County Board of Supervisors on Wednesday.

In Casa Grande, the city confirmed that Matt Herman, Bob Huddleston and Dick Powell have all received the number of votes needed to be automatically elected to the City Council. Since they were favored by a majority of voters, there will not be a contest in the November general election. Mayor Craig McFarland was unopposed.
