MUSD, city council to address shared issues at joint meeting

Although they are tasked with different duties, the Maricopa Unified School District and the city have the same underlying goal — to improve the quality of life for all those in Maricopa. In order to collectively work toward that goal, MUSD and city council will soon have a joint meeting.

The meeting was the brainchild of Councilman Henry Wade. Wade said, as far as he knows, this is not the first time a joint meeting has occurred, but it will be the first time since he has served on council. He said he first thought of the idea after the community safety forum.

“We just want to show the community that we do work together, even though we have separate responsibilities and policies,” he said.
