Casa Grande council approves lower fees for Attesa

City Council members have agreed to lower the fees that will be owed by the developers of the Attesa motor sports park for the cost of the time it has taken city planning department staff to review plans for the project.

Under the old fee schedule, staff time was paid for on a per-acre fee. However, Planning and Development Director Paul Tice told council members Monday night the project’s size — 2,400 acres — is much larger than most projects staff works on, meaning the cost of staff time was disproportionate to the fee. The change will save developers more than $20,000 in fees while still allowing the city to cover the actual cost of the staff time.
