Revitalizing Eloy is a group effort

Revitalizing Eloy’s downtown has become a labor of love for the City Council, the Downtown Advisory Commission, and it is a priority of the Eloy staff. Several initiatives are currently in place, in the works, or expected to roll out in the next year.

Two years ago, the City Council adopted (and subsequently expanded) its façade improvement grant program. This mechanism can be used by building owners to improve their buildings’ curb appeal by offering to rebate one-half of the improvement costs (up to $10,000) for the façade and up to $40,000 for a complete renovation. The application process is simple and, although not targeted for regular maintenance items, it is a great way to add value to an existing building and demonstrate not only a pride of ownership, but a commitment to our downtown and community.

One of the truisms in community development is that a city cannot expect others to invest if the city is not willing to invest in itself. As part of an overall effort to address future value and growth, Eloy has embarked on several significant projects.
