Tech school, monastery proposed for Casa Grande

A new technical school and a monastery could be coming to Casa Grande in the near future.
On Thursday the Casa Grande Planning and Zoning Commission heard a request from the owner of a 34-acre parcel near Florence Street and Ash Avenue, on the city’s south side. The owners hope to be able to put residential housing and a technical school on the site, which currently is zoned industrial.
The technical school, which would be a private institution, would involve training of a workforce that might eventually work in any number of the proposed manufacturing and research and development projects slated to come to Pinal County. It wasn’t discussed which specific institution might open.
