Water fountain removed from Maricopa’s Villages neighborhood

The horses at the entrance of The Villages at El Dorado off of John Wayne Parkway and Smith Enke Road will have to go a little farther to get a drink of water.
Citing costs, the housing development’s home owners association recently decided to get rid of the water feature and instead fill it in with desert landscaping while at the same time replacing the lights that will illuminate the horses at night.
“When you really look at the dollars involved it really was an easy decision,” said Kevin Becker, HOA board president.
