Building, administrative codes to be updated in Apache Junction
Draft ordinances changing building rules and regulations from a 2006 edition to the 2018 edition of the International Code Council series are to be discussed at the Apache Junction City Council’s April 15 work session.
The changes also update the 1997 Uniform Administrative Code, including language that the City of Mesa has used, Dave Zellner, Apache Junction building and safety manager, said at the council’s March 19 meeting.
“So the administrative code gives the rules and regulations for administering the adopted technical codes, organizing the building safety division and establishing positions, functions and stuff like that; gives the authority to the building official to do the functions, stop work orders, inspections, fees — stuff like that,” Mr. Zellner said.
