Pinal officials ponder policies for driverless cars

Pinal County and the town of Florence are working to bring a seminar on driverless vehicles to Florence this summer for the benefit of county and local officials.
County Manager Greg Stanley told the Board of Supervisors last week that he and others attended a seminar on autonomous vehicles about three weeks ago at Arizona State University. He said it raised several questions and policy decisions that municipalities must make “as we’re looking at the future with autonomous vehicles.”
Pinal County and Florence will sponsor the seminar in Florence and invite the county’s cities and towns, tentatively on June 13.
