Florence Hospital officially reopens

Officials, dignitaries and interested residents gathered Thursday for the ribbon-cutting ceremony officially reopening Florence Hospital by Steward Health Care, a private, physician-led health care network that acquired the facility last year.
After years of financial instability, the previous owner of Florence Hospital at Anthem, New Vision Health, closed the hospital’s doors with only a few days’ warning last June. Steward acquired the facility last December. The hospital opened last week.
“The addition of Florence Hospital to the Steward family advances our successful, physician-led, integrated care model in Arizona,” said John Polanowicz, chief operating officer of Steward Health Care. “We look forward to working with the exceptionally talented doctors and medical staff to provide the highest quality of care to residents in Florence and surrounding communities.”
