Students from the Eloy Elementary School District, city officials and members of the Eloy community gathered at Trekell Park on Wednesday afternoon for the dedication ceremony of a basketball court.
The whirling sound of a helicopter caught everyone’s attention as it circled in on the park and landed in the grass next to the baseball field as Phoenix Suns forward Ty Jerome and guard Jevon Carter, along with broadcaster Tom Leander, exited the aircraft.
As part of The Rebound Project, the Suns and APS teamed up to refurbish the basketball court with new concrete spanning approximately 9,200 square feet along with acrylic resurfacer and a plexipave chrome finish.
