A company that specializes in hemp processing was approved for a conditional use permit by the Coolidge Planning and Zoning Commission earlier this month.
Premier Extractions specializes in extracting CBD, or cannabidiol, from hemp plants. The refined end-product is then sold to other companies that use it for hemp-based beauty and health products.
Although hemp is part of the cannabis family, it is low in THC, the psychoactive component molecule found in marijuana.
