Maricopa farm supplies nation’s nurseries with roses

maricopaPinal County is well known for its fields of cotton, corn and alfalfa, but at one Maricopa farm, roses are the top crop.

Tucked away down a long dirt road, behind several fields of cotton, is Kenly Farm, a producer of commercial rose bushes.

Summer and early fall is one of the prettiest times to visit the farm as rose bushes in various hues of pink, red and yellow blanket dozens of acres.

A family business, Kenly Farm is run by father and son team Dave and Steve Kenly, who grow more than 200 varieties of roses, including some patented types.
