Apache Junction’s City Council approved a remodel of its 911-dispatch center, agreeing to pay $428,794 for the work and outfitting it with workstations and other furniture costing $96,952.74.
The move was approved during the Tuesday, Nov. 3, council meeting.
“This will help us for a period, but as we consider the growth down to the south, we will need more space,” City Manager Bryant Powell said at the Nov. 3 council meeting. “This building was, as I understand it, (built in) 1986 undersized for various different reasons.”
The 911-dispatch center is part of the police department building at 1001 N. Idaho Road.
