Design nearly complete for off-leash dog park at Pinal County complex
The 2.6-acre dog park will be in a water-retention area. The council last year approved a $57,383 contract with J2 Engineering and Environmental Design LLC plus an additional 10% contingency for unforeseen change orders for a total amount of $63,121.30 for the dog park’s design.
“So we did get our 90% drawings finally at the end of last week and we have gotten all of the comments back from the people that I was most worried about, which is all of our drainage folks,” Liz Langenbach, director of the Apache Junction Parks and Recreation Department, told the parks commission at a recent meeting. “They are really happy with the changes that were made and feel that everything is meeting their expectations for drainage. So that was one of our biggest challenges and our biggest considerations.”
