Town Manager Charles Montoya met with the Florence Reminder Friday to answer several questions about the year ahead:
I’ve been hearing the HDAC (Florence Historic District Advisory Commission) voted to raze the Francisco Cuen House. Is that right?
I knew that that item was going to HDAC for consideration, being that the town did put it up for sealed bids two times in the last year and there was really no response to it. People did show some interest but no one really put in any bids in that would purchase the building or rehab the building at all.
If I remember right it was almost $100,000 just to stabilize?
It was $77,000 to stabilize and close to $200,000 to totally rehab the building.
