Craig McFarland posed a deal with his wife Nancy shortly after he retired earlier this year.
Either let him buy a motor home, or he was going to run for mayor of Casa Grande in 2016.
The couple didn’t get the motor home, so McFarland announced his candidacy in an open letter to local community leaders last week.
The 61-year-old former business manager admitted he’s a newcomer to the public sector, but the former Eagle Scout from California said he’s always been active in strengthening community relations.
