Pinal RV ordinance changed, retained

If there wasn’t enough drama surrounding Pinal County’s RV ordinance, some more was just added to the mix.
At Wednesday’s meeting of the Board of Supervisors, the board voted 3-2 to pass an amended ordinance designating recreational vehicles, or RVs, as temporary guest housing. The ordinance in place did not account for RVs as guest housing and limited visits to one RV on a homeowner’s property for no more than two weeks at a time.
The vote allowed added flexibility for RV owners, but that vote was killed later in the meeting. Supervisor Pete Rios, D-Dudleyville, originally voted to amend the ordinance. However, later in the meeting, he asked the board to reconsider his vote, which he changed. The board accepted his motion with a 4-1 vote, meaning the original amended ordinance failed to pass.
