Attorney hired to help get land by airport
After a short closed executive session Monday, Eloy City Council members returned to the chambers with the decision that they would retain the services of a lawyer to help with land acquisitions around the Eloy Municipal Airport.
With a price tag of $275 an hour, the council entered into an agreement with Diane M. Miller, a Phoenix based attorney, should the need arise for condemnation or eminent domain proceedings involving the properties they wish to acquire around the airport.
“We had the properties appraised and made offers based on these values to the property owners involved,” said City Manager Harvey Krauss. “At this point in time we believe that we may have a possible need for some assistance from an attorney for condemnation purposes on one or more properties.”
