Pinal County Treasurer-elect talks about plans for office

Michael McCord has no “grand aspirations” of becoming a career politician.
He lamented the negativity often noticed in many races: Some candidates can’t seem to get enough of bashing the other one and allow the digs to take the place of discussions of platforms.
But the Pennsylvania native with a background in paramedics and education snagged the role of county treasurer, locking in the job in the primary election.
He was “excited, shocked (and) nervous” to learn he had won his first political race.
Before now, McCord worked for a paramedic company in Pennsylvania — which he had been doing since a month after the company was established — for about 10 years.
