City Manager Selects Dale Wiebusch as Intergovernmental Affairs Director

dale wiebusch(NEWS RELEASE) Following a nationwide search and recruitment effort, City Manager Gregory Rose selected Dale Wiebusch as the Intergovernmental Affairs Director for the City of Maricopa. Starting on November 14, 2016, Mr. Wiebusch will coordinates the City’s legislative and intergovernmental activities and programs.

“I am pleased to announce Dale Wiebusch as the newest member of my executive team,” said City Manager, Gregory Rose. “Mr. Wiebusch’s skills and experience rose to the top of the other qualified candidates, making him a clear choice for the job.”

Mr. Wiebusch has been working as a Legislative Associate at the League of Arizona Cities and Towns for the last ten years, lobbying members of the state legislature on issues such as municipal government, revenue sharing, local control and criminal justice.   He has extensive experience analyzing, formulating positions, and developing strategies on over 400 bills each legislative session.  Dale has developed a strong reputation for being persuasive, and for his ability to establish relationships with legislators from all backgrounds.

Prior to joining the League, Mr. Wiebusch worked in the area of domestic violence as a Director of Systems Advocacy with the Arizona Coalition Against Domestic Violence, and a Director of Shelter Operations for Stepping Stones.

The Intergovernmental Affairs Director reports directly to the City Manager and monitors state and federal legislation, analyzes legislative proposals and provides recommendations to the Mayor and Council, City Manager’s Office and staff.
