History display opens at Maricopa City Hall

Maricopa Historical Society members have assembled an exhibit with information, maps, pictures and memorabilia on the area’s earliest inhabitants and historical milestones, now on display at City Hall.
The city has gone by four different names over the generations – Maricopa Wells, Maricopaville, Maricopa Junction and finally Maricopa – and has had three different locations, and the exhibit has details on them all.
Entitled “Maricopa History,” it’s intended to be a permanent display with the flexibility to changed or updated from time to time. “It’s going to be vibrant,” Historical Society President Paul Shirk said.
