Maricopa Vice Mayor Marvin Brown appointed to statewide committee

[NEWS RELEASE] Vice Mayor Marvin Brown has been appointed to serve on the League of Arizona Cities and Towns Budget, Finance and Economic Development Committee. The committee is one of five that develop League legislative policy through a series of meetings, which is ultimately voted on annually by the full membership.

“Serving on the League of Arizona Cities and Towns Budget, Finance and Economic Development Committee is a tremendous opportunity for the City of Maricopa and an honor,” said Vice Mayor Marvin Brown. “This is an opportunity to exchange ideas with leaders from around the state, impact policy that affects our city, and helps us create better solutions at a local level.”

Example topics for the Budget, Finance and Economic Development Committee include; special taxing districts, economic development incentives and programs, TPT administration, Construction Sales Tax, budget procedures, audit procedures, Model City Tax Code, TPT base, Government Property Lease Excise Tax, developmental impact fees, Tax Increment Financing, tax abatements, property tax, enterprise zones, and foreign trade zones.

The League of Arizona Cities and Towns is a voluntary membership organization of incorporated municipalities in Arizona. The aim of the League is to promote local self-government, municipal independence and provide professional and high quality assistance to the municipal governments in the State of Arizona.
