Florence Public Works Director/Town Engineer Chris Salas said the previous figure of $10,000 may not be enough to fix the deteriorating balcony. He told the council the town might do better to put the project out for a “creative RFP” (request for proposals), in which contractors recommend how they’d fix it and at what cost. The town may amend the current budget for up to $40,000 for the balcony repairs.
