Residents split on whether to continue fighting Florence Copper

In the call to the public at Monday’s Florence Town Council meeting, citizens spoke both for and against the town continuing its expensive legal battle against Florence Copper.

Douglas Carlson of Florence argued the eminent domain lawsuit could be disastrous for the town. If the town loses, “don’t be surprised if Florence Copper goes after the town for its legal fees, which would be their right after spending millions defending themselves against frivolous lawsuits.”
