Loaded with fun: Western Pinal County fourth of July events

By Rodney Haas | Casa Grande Dispatch

Pinal CountyPeople in Pinal County have their choice from a plethora of Fourth of July fun, including live music in Florence, a belly flop competition at the Coolidge swimming pool and fireworks shows across the county.

“The Fourth of July is a real family oriented holiday,” said Matthew Jankowski, a recreation program coordinator for the Casa Grande Community Services Department.

Jankowski said about 5,000 people are expected to attend the city’s events at Paul Mason Sportsplex. On the schedule are relay races, contests, music and fireworks.

Jankowski said the event is the city’s second most-attended, after the annual Electric Light Parade in December. Casa Grande isn’t the only community with Independence Day activities.
