Pinal County’s 2017 growth rate tops in state

Maricopa County once again saw the largest population gains among the nation’s nearly 3,200 counties, according to 2017 population estimates released Thursday by the Census Bureau.

But Pinal County had the largest growth percentage in the state.

Maricopa County added an estimated 73,650 new residents between 2016 and 2017, well ahead of Clark County, Nevada, the second-biggest gainer in the country with 47,355 new residents last year.
