Pinal Partnership shows support for #20×2020
Education is a top priority for all communities in Arizona. A priority that deserves the necessary tools and resources to ensure our children thrive. To support that, Governor Ducey has introduced the 20×2020 plan. Key facts include:
- Building on last year’s teacher pay raise, in FY 2019, the 20×2020 plan permanently boosts the governor’s teacher pay increase to 10 percent by the start of the next school year.
- In FY 2020, the plan permanently increases teacher pay 5 percent.
- In FY 2021, the plan permanently increases teacher pay another 5 percent, for a total of 20%.
- By the 2020 school year, average teacher pay would climb from $48,372 now to $58,130.
- This plan also fully restores the $371 million in recession-era cuts made to K-12 funding through a phase-in over five years. $100 million would be available as soon as FY 2019. School districts would have the flexibility to invest these dollars in maintaining school facilities, updating textbooks, or other district priorities. View the full plan.
20×2020 needs our support to pass so we encourage each of you to help share the message and call your state legislators.
