US-international relations important to economy, Pinal group told

Pinal Alliance’s Economic Development Forum hosted a discussion about Arizona’s International Partnerships with Canada and Mexico. Panelists were Jessica Pacheco and Glenn Williamson while David Bentley moderated.

Acknowledging the importance of relationship building between Pinal County entities and international neighbors will be a key factor in future economic development for the region, a group of civic and business leaders heard Thursday.

During a meeting of Pinal Alliance for Economic Growth, international commerce experts Jessica Pacheco and Glenn Williamson spoke of the importance of continuing to foster relationships between state and local governments and the governments and business leaders in both Mexico and Canada.

Pacheco, who is the vice president for state and local affairs for Arizona Public Service Co. and board president of the Arizona-Mexico Commission, urged those assembled to make marketing to Mexican companies a priority because “it enhances the vitality of both Arizona and Sonora.”
